Went in for breakfast and drinks. I have been here a few times since I live locally, and have never left pleased. This trip my wife and I ordered Mimosas. They came out warm. The excuse given was the champagne wasn't in the cooler so it was warm. Instead of giving me a warm drink when it should be cold give me some warning to change my mind or decide I still want warm orange juice and champagne. Besides that the food is mediocre, and over priced for what you get. They forgot my wife's french toast so it came out late......and it was frozen in the middle. How is french toast frozen.....the dinner in town makes it fresh, it makes no sense that it was frozen. So needless to say we are not happy with our experience.
We stayed in the cabins which were extremely spacious for the cost and comfortable. Overall it was very nice. The cabins were a little dirty with some smashed bugs on the walls, but nothing major. Overall, they were functional, comfortable, and a great place to stay.
Tried this place with some friends two years ago and didn't have a very good experience so my husband and I hadn't been back since then. Some family was in town and wanted to see the remodel so we went with my family out for breakfast. My husband and I ordered Mimosas, but apparently they didn't have chilled sparkling white wine, just an unrefrigerated bottle. Instead of explaining this to me the waitress just brought out two warm mimosas. When I asked for a new one she explained, but said she could chill it for me. I was confused but agreed, so she took my glass, dumped it into a shaker with ice, and shook until chilled. This would have been fine except now the sparkling wine was flat, so now I had a cold flat mimosas. When breakfast came the food quality was ok, and everyone got their food except me. The waitress explained mine was 'coming'. She checked back three times throughout the course of the meal, all the while repeating that my food was 'coming'. Finally when others were finished with their food I demanded to know why I hadn't gotten my simple meal of french toast. The waitress explained that it had been forgotten on the ticket. I finally received it a few minutes later and it was cold in the middle. Waitress was not apologetic, said she took the drinks off for 'our trouble'. Will not be going back, it was an absolute terrible experience.
Really enjoyed my stay! Rooms are spacious and high ceilings. Could definitely see myself spending the weekend ice fishing. I believe the resort was rebuilt in 2015 and is owned by Grand Casino. They offer shuttles to the casino on certain days ( Thursday, Friday and Saturday). You can rent ice houses into the winter or rent a charter fishing boat in the summer. Please check my pictures.
Beautiful location!! It's nice to be able to get a drink and over look the lake. The remodel is also very nice. Another nice things about it is they offer games for the guests to play and bring to their rooms.
